Best spiced Rum radio advert lyrics

Oh here's to you John Roberts,

A master of the sea.

A captain of Good Fortune,

A son of old Cymru.

Oh an honest soul to start with,

soon was led a stray.

He gave in to temptation,

to what a pirate's paid.

He called!

"Hoist the sails boys, roll out the rum, it's a pirates life for me!

My body belongs on these waters, my heart it belongs to the sea".

Well they say you hear him calling,

when the winds are in the West,

With tales of lands from far away,

of plundering and of quests.

But the smell of rum it lingers,

Like the salt air on the breeze.

So, raise your glass, tie your flag to the mast,

for the legend of old Barti Ddu.

He cried!

"Hoist the sails boys, roll out the rum, it's a pirates life for me!

My body belongs on these waters, my heart it belongs to the sea".

He cries!

"Hoist the sails boys, roll out the rum, it's a pirates life for me!

My body belongs on these waters, my heart it belongs to the sea".

The ballad of Barti Ddu was written by Daisy B as an entry to the first ever Barti Art competition back in 2018. Daisy won joint first place and we've used her song for radio advertising twice to date.
