A take on the modern classic “Espresso Martini” apparently invented by Dick Bradsell (A legend in the cocktail world) in the 1980s. The story goes is that he was working in the Brasserie in Soho, London when a young lady came in and asked for something that would, “Wake me up, and then f*** me up”. This cocktail is designed to make you “Pistol Proof”, which was one of Barti Ddu’s many nicknames. We think the spices in the rum take the classic espresso martini to a new level of epic.
- 25ml Vodka
- 25ml Barti Spiced Rum
- 35ml Coffee Liqueur (Kahlua)
- 25ml Espresso Shot (Coaltown Coffee is great)
- 25ml Sugar Syrup
This one is super simple to make. Toss all your ingredients into your shaker with ice, include your long thin whisking spring into the shaker to help the frothing. Give it all a damn good hard shake. Pour out your smooth creamy mix into a glass and top off with a couple coffee beans if you have them to hand.
Stare in wonder at the killer queen of cocktails to get the Barti party flying.
A New Espresso Martini Alternative - Barti Latte
If you fancy something a little different then you need to try the newly invented Barti Latte Cocktail. Conjured up by the expert Rum mixologists at the famous Fidel Rum Bar in Bath. This is a light creamier alternative to the traditional Espresso Martini, enhanced in its flavour with Barti's very own non curdling, plant based Cream Liqueur. If you like a cheeky Latte you are going to absolutely LOVE this!
